Meet Jetta
She met Fred Smolchuck Jr. at Evangel College, and they married upon his graduation. She completed college at Eastern Michigan University and began her career as an English teacher in the public schools. Although she never experienced a direct call to ministry, she can see now that God was preparing her to serve beside her husband. Growing up in the church, she got hands-on training while playing the organ, leading the children’s choir, teaching children in Vacation Bible School, working in the nursery, and doing outreach ministries. This experience along with a deep love for God and a love for people prepared her to serve as a pastor’s wife. Jetta chose to be a stay-at-home-mom when their first child was born. Fulfilling the role of mother to three children has been very rewarding. She is a seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for the family as they were growing up, designing many of the dresses worn by the girls and herself. Playing the organ at church isn’t something Jetta had wanted to do, but because she possessed the ability, the job always seemed to fall in her lap. Having to sit patiently in the pew at church, waiting for her mother to finish with her responsibilities at the organ caused Jetta’s daughter, Kendal, to block out the music lessons she received. Kendal never wanted to be required to be a church pianist or organist and the safest guarantee was to lack the ability. Praise the Lord, Jetta uses her abilities to serve Him. Because of her background in education, Jetta has focused on the teaching side of the ministry, as she continually brings new classes to the church family. She is largely responsible for the development of the Cleansing Classes in the local congregation, which are now spreading around the world. Her grandson, Brandon, was born in Michigan and Jetta bonded closely with him. Today he is the pride and joy of her life. She loves to share grandchild stories, because she thinks her grandson is the brightest shining star in the galaxy. (Of course, you know she is right, if you listen to her stories.) |

Jetta
Henry Smolchuck, wife of Pastor Fred Smolchuck Jr., grew up in a small
town in Oklahoma where her parents owned and operated several businesses.
She was involved in many school, sports, and church activities. Her mother
hung a plaque on the wall of their home that read, “Only
one life, t’will soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ
will last.” This became her focus. Being raised in a traditional
church, she began early to search for more of God. At the age of nine,
she remembers beginning the habit of reading her Bible and praying each
night before going to bed.
