Today's Confession:

I am going to keep casting my cares on the Lord.
1 Peter 5:7...CAST YOUR CARES ON ME, FOR I CARE FOR YOU.

While sitting on the couch reading, Pumpkin, my dog, came over with her ball and wanted to play.  She however didn't turn it over very easily to let me have it to throw for her.  She is is funny.  It is like she wants that ball thrown so she can chase after it....but she doesn't want to drop it and let me pick it up so that she can actually get what she wants.  She is just so silly!!

While watching this happen over and over again...I am reminded that is how so many believers live their lives with God.  God says in 1 Peter 5:7...CAST YOUR CARES ON ME, FOR I CARE FOR YOU.  When you read that...don't you feel peace come over you?  There is like this reassurance that WOW, God really cares about me and what is going on in my life.  So usually what happens with this is that as we think about that a bit...then we think ...yeah, I should turn this situation over to God and then we say "God I am giving you this situation.  I can't do anything about it, I know that ...all because I have tried to."  So that is the thinking but as time goes by...our minds get back on the problem and we focus on it and take it back from God and try to fix it ourselves.  Then we realize we can't fix it and we give it back to God again.  Have you ever done this?  Oh, we all have.  Maybe some of you are even in this tug of war right now. What would be some examples of this?  Well, it happens in many situations.  It can be in relationships and finances to start with.  Oh yeah...and healing.  These are all places that the devil works hard to get us to forget about how much God cares about us and everything that happens to us.

I encourage you to fall in LOVE with Jesus!  HE LOVES YOU SO MUCH and CARES SO MUCH! HE DESIRES TO TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING THAT TOUCHES YOUR LIFE!!!  As a Mother...I do all sorts of things for my son and he never asks me to do them.  I just see things that could be bought and given to him or I see things and do things that bless His life and he may not even realize it.  Well, as I sit here and think about me and what I do as a Mother...OH THE GOD WE SERVE IS SO MUCH BIGGER AND SO MUCH GREATER THAN ANYTHING WE REALLY KNOW!  The devil does everything he can to blur the goodness of God.  He sure blurred the truth for Eve and she suffered the consequences of listening to him.  Now Eve had been with God the night before and then during the next day....she sinned and it separated her from God forever.

So here it is Monday....and church was great and you felt really good while you were there....but now the devil is coming and talking to you and whatever he is saying....IT IS LIE!  Do not listen to him because he is seeking whom he may devour.

BUT NOT YOU!!! NOT TODAY!!!Here is a song to go and sing along with by Tommy Walker... I HAVE A HOPE!

Allow the Lord to turn your darkness into light today!

Prayer When I Need to Resist Temptation and Live God's Way by Stormie Omartian

Lord, I know that life lived by the power of Your Spirit has greater rewards and profits than anything I can accomplish in my own flesh. Help me to always live according to Your Word and to refuse to be tempted to do otherwise. I know that living Your way benefits every part of my life. Help me to live in a godly manner so that I can receive the promises You have for me in this life as well as in the life to come. 

Bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.  1 Timothy 4:8
