I don't actually remember it, but my Mom has told me that when I was a toddler, I meddled somewhere I shouldn't have and ended up pushing a hot iron onto my little left hand. Apparently, it was quite a horrifying ordeal and after everything calmed down, I was left with a permanent reminder of the occasion. That ugly burn from way back when has stuck with me through all these years, so much so that even now I can still see the faded outline of it around my thumb and index finger.
Certain events have a way of making an unforgettable imprint on our lives. Many of them though, unlike my scarred hand, may not be visible on the outside unless we bring attention to them.
Jesus made one of the biggest marks on history by lovingly volunteering His body to be beaten, bloodied, bruised and crucified, only to then rise from the grave, making Better Life available to all. His impact now continues daily as His love reaches out to redeem hurting people and hopeless situations all over the globe.
One of the main channels He uses to touch this world is through the lives of people like you and I who have received God's love and accepted His invitation to live a Better Life.
For us to (BE)TTER, we can't let the only mark we leave on this world be a dent on the couch. If during our daily routines we will pray for direction and learn to pay attention, we will notice all kinds of opportunities to let God's signs of love show through us to others.
True love always leaves its stamp on anything it touches.
To (BE)TTER:
Today we will learn to live inspired in spirit, mind and body so we will leave a legacy of Better Life for tomorrow.
