Letters Archive: June 2007 Back to our Homepage June, 2007 Dear Loving Church Family and Friends, Growing up in a Pastor’s home, I was profoundly impacted during my teenage years when Dad Smolchuck started a Prayer Chain in our church. Dad felt the Lord wanted him to ask the Church Family to participate in praying around the clock. I was 16 years old at the time. This 24-hour Prayer Chain was to last for a week. People signed up for an hour daily. I took the 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. time slot. What started out to be a week of prayer ended up going for 16 full weeks. We saw people saved, healed and many other miraculous breakthroughs. God has put it on our hearts to start a Prayer Chain for our Church Family. It will begin on Friday, June 8th. We are asking you to take a link in this 10-Day Prayer Chain. It will be great if everyone in the Church Family can commit to pray for an hour each day, or half an hour for the duration of the ten days. God spoke to my heart concerning the followers of Christ who were asked to wait in the Upper Room for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This took place ten days later on the day of Pentecost. They were not disappointed as the Holy Spirit descended upon them and transformed them. The Church of the New Testament was born with signs following and 3,000 people received Christ as their Savior. We believe God has something special in mind for all of us. As the early disciples were obedient to Christ’s call, let us do likewise and enter into supernatural breakthroughs. Expect miracles!
