The Pastor's Partners Letter

2006

Dear First Assembly Church Family and Faithful Partners,

"Only one life, twill soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last."

This quote from a plaque that hangs on the wall of hour home is a good place to focus as we review the year that has just ended and contemplate the year that is beginning. As we begin this new year, we can expect to see God working in ways we have never imagined! At First Assembly, the last two years have been spent "breaking up the fallow ground" through nightly prayer meetings at the church in order to see God "rain righteousness" in our own lives, in our community, in our state, in our nation and around the world. (Jeremiah 4:3) Will you join the ranks of those who are desperate for a move of God? To preservere in prayer means to keep praying until you see that prayer fully answered, or until the burden lifts and you sense in your spirit the victory has been won.

Your support – both in prayer and giving – is causing God's Word to spread throughout regions of the world as well as in our local community. For more than 20 years the love of Jesus has poured out of First Assembly through our Clothed With Love Outreach (previously called Total Life Center). With economic uncertainty in our area, the need is greater than ever and because of your giving, we have been able to provide food, clothes and the gospel to hundreds of hurting people in the Saginaw Valley. The home base must remain secure in order to reach out beyond our local setting and touch the world.

There is much tormoil in the Holy land and all eyes are on the tumultuous Middle East. The two bodies of water in the Holy land are symbolic of the difference between human materialism and Biblical prosperity. The Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee stand out in stark contrast with each other.

As you give to the ministries of First Assebly, your money is flowing in so that it can flow out. Missionaries around the world receive a portion of your giving. For example, last year 1,000 Telugu-language "Shepherd's Staffs - Bible School in a Book" were given to Pastors in India as part of our Church Family's missions outreach. In North Africa, a missionary we support each month was planting the gospel in a Moslem culture. Just one scripture verse on a calendar hanging in a Muslim's home penetrated the darkness and savlation came to that family.

At the present time we are needing to replace the roof on our Church building because of leaks in the sanctuary which are causing deterioration to the ceiling and dry wall. This project cannot be delayed. To replace the roof will require 176 requires of shingles at a cost of $223 per square. When you give to repair the House of God, you are sowing seed that will produce a return in one of the following ways: 1) An "Upgrade", 2) Next phase of your life or ministry, 3) Paying off all debts, or 4) Dream come true. We are believing God to speak to the hearts of His people to sow at least $223 to purchase one square of shingles so His house can be restored to it's original condition. As you sow your seed, we are joining with you in faith for God's blessings to be poured out in your life in one of these four areas.
